Portrait of Nick Dolin

Nick Dolin is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Mode Psychiatry. He evaluates and treats adults by telehealth across Florida, in English or Russian; in-person visits in Aventura are coming soon.

How I practice

Appointments here are long enough to think. A first visit is 60 minutes; follow-ups are 30. I explain diagnoses and medication options in plain language — what a medication does, what it may cost you in side effects, and what the alternatives are — before anything starts. You see me at every visit, so your history, your goals and what has and hasn't worked carry forward instead of starting over.

Every visit combines medication management with supportive therapy: we talk about what is happening in your life, not only about doses. Medication is one tool. When sleep, medical factors or life circumstances are the bigger lever, I say so, and I coordinate with your therapist and primary care provider.

Training and credentials

  • Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner — Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, 2026
  • Board certification: PMHNP-BC, American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • Florida Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, license 11051078
  • Clinical training in outpatient psychiatry at Centerstone community clinics in Tennessee, in person and by telehealth, with patients across the lifespan, and in inpatient psychiatry at Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute

Before psychiatry

I came to psychiatry after a first career in consulting. I studied economics at Emory University and spent six years at EY leading software implementations for large organizations — work that was mostly about listening carefully, documenting precisely, and explaining complex systems to the people who had to live with them. Those habits are the backbone of how I run a practice: a structured evaluation, clear notes, and plans you can actually follow.

Languages

I grew up speaking Russian and English and practice in both. The whole process — evaluation, prescribing, follow-up, paperwork — can happen in Russian, and I can help you find Russian-speaking therapists in Florida.

Who I see

Adults 18 and older in Florida, for psychiatric evaluation and medication management with supportive therapy. I do not treat children or adolescents, I do not offer standalone weekly psychotherapy, and I am not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or call 911.
